Naturi Coffee & Chicory Chocolate Cake

A celebration isn’t quite a celebration, unless there’s cake involved. And boy is it time for Pittsburgh to celebrate! Local CMU Graduate Students Jen, Anes, and Aditya joined forces to start Naturi, an Organic Food Company. The cofounders made it their personal mission to revolutionize the food industry, starting right here in the ‘burgh. They have committed themselves to exclusively using the best, most nourishing ingredients in their yogurt. By adding exotic ingredients like Saigon Cinnamon and Indonesian Vanilla, they are able to make delicious Organic Greek Yogurt with less sugar, more protein, and richer flavors than the national brands.

This is pretty exciting news for Pittsburgh, so we decided to celebrate in style with this latest recipe. It’s a fudgey chocolate cake with a decadent chocolate frosting. We highlighted Naturi’s Coffee + Chicory Organic Greek Yogurt for this cake recipe because the deep coffee notes enhance the rich chocolatey flavor profile. Plus the addition of chicory adds this incredible hazelnut nuance for the ultimate chocolate cake experience. Check out where you can pick up Naturi products HERE.

Yes, you might think we missed the boat on the whole less sugar thing because we baked a cake with it…BUT the Greek yogurt gives this cake an incredible fudgey/cheesecake texture without all the fat. Plus it packs a ton of protein, so I’m calling this cake a big win. It’s elegant, rich, and unbelievably divine. You’ll never think of chocolate cake the same way again… Cheers to the good things in life!
